Wet Felting at the Quayside

Design and make a small piece of wet felt that reflects the things you notice in the landscape around the Quay.

organicARTS is heading to Exeter Quayside! Take inspiration from the landscape, buildings, flora and fauna of the Quay to design and make a small wet-felted taster artwork to take home. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to a larger, communal wet-felted wall hanging based on the motifs and patterns of the Custom House and Quay. Finally you’ll have the chance to see different stages of wool and yarn production, such as carding raw fleece and using a spinning wheel to make yarn.

This day of creativity forms part of Exeter Canal and Quay Trust’s Summer at the Quayside and focuses on Exeter’s vibrant wool trade history. Why not follow up your creative activities by walking to city’s Woolen Trail to discover more about the wool trade in Exeter?
