Young Chefs .. seasonal food around the fire

We have been working on a summer holiday cooking project in partnership with St Sidwells Community Centre and Liverty Housing It has engaged young people in farm exploring and fireside cooking. The cooks harvested courgettes from the community garden and foraged blackberries from the hedges. The meal?

We really enjoyed this project. Great to see folk engaging with the countryside, discovering that courgettes are really fruit, feeling the prickles of the stem, purple staining their fingers with blackberry juice and seeing their dough rise and be cooked over a charcoal fire. Thank you to everyone who made this happen!
