Good news for the community garden. Having had to close again to all but essential works for another 11 weeks we are now pleased to inform you that we can reopen the garden to our wonderful volunteers!
We are working towards volunteers returning to site on the Wednesday 31st of March. We will be closed on Friday the 2nd of April as this is Good Friday and a Bank Holiday, opening again and going forward from Wednesday the 7th and every Friday and Wednesday thereafter.
As you can appreciate we are continuing to adapt our working practises and evolve our way of interacting with the space and each other to ensure the wellbeing of all.We are looking at a reduced volunteer workforce initially to enable us to continue to monitor the space and ensure safe working. This may mean that volunteers will be offered Wednesday or Friday but not both, the volunteering day may be reduced and because of personal space the minibus will continue to have a much reduced capacity.
Over the coming week we will endeavour to contact each volunteer to discuss the reopening and to address individual needs and concerns. If you are currently on our volunteer list but feel you are not ready to return, please call the office and leave a message with your name so we have a better understanding of numbers and can concentrate our time on the logistics of getting the space right for those returning. A decision not to return at this time will in no way affect your position as a volunteer and we look forward to welcoming you back when you feel the time is right for you.
