We were hoping that with the cold weather clearing all would be fine however the heavy rain and high winds forecast for the weekend will make the community garden extremely wet and unsafe. \n\n\n\nWe are emailing all ticket holders offering either a transfer of tickets to 15th December Yule Family Celebration or a refund. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBring your kids to another gentle\, family seasonal activity afternoon at organicARTS! With Fireside Stories and Cooking\, Natural Creativity and Exploring\, Gardening and Celebrating the Seasons. SUMMARY:Samhain Fireside Circle
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a chance to connect with nature\, community and yourself during a calm and restorative evening round the fire in our beautiful community garden. \n\n\n\nThis is part of a series of circles on Tuesday evenings to celebrate the wheel of the year and the cycle of the seasons. This is an adult only event\, it will based around the fire outside so come dressed warmly and as it will be dark please bring a torch! Hot drinks will be provided! \n\n\n\nIt will be run by Jo Cotter\, one of the founder members of organicARTS\, and trained in the Way of the Circle\, and Bekah Phillips. \n\n\n\nAbout Circles\n\n\n\nCircle practice is a method of authentic\, compassionate communication that has been practised throughout history. It involves sitting in a circle and sharing our personal stories in a non judgemental way\, building understanding and empathy. When we sit in a circle\, we’re implicitly suggesting that we are all equal and that we are connected. A talking stick is held by the person who speaks and moves around the circle until everyone has been heard. The invitation is to speak and listen from the heart. \n\n\n\nAs a technology\, a circle is deceptively simple. There are some basic ground rules: don’t interrupt\, don’t analyse or judge anyone else’s contribution\, keep it confidential\, speak from the heart\, set a time limit. Within that container\, the way it works is simply to go around the circle and hear from everyone. DESCRIPTION:Doodling with Nature\n\n\n\nThursday 4 July\, 7–9.30pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExplore the rich variety of nature’s offerings through the mindful process of ‘doodling’.  Without touching a pencil. \n\n\n\n“It’s lovely to be here\, doing something that really slows me down.”  JanMid Summer … a glorious season to celebrate the beauty\, variety\, eccentricity and sheer magic of nature! \n\n\n\nJoin artist Megan Dowsett to explore the rich variety that Nature offers at this time of year\, through the mindful process of ‘doodling’.  Use her extensive collection of seed pods\, sticks\, leaves and cones to create temporary artworks\, known as Nature Doodles. \n\n\n\nThrough a range of prompts and activities\, we’ll doodle individually\, before responding to the surrounding landscape through the creation of a bigger\, collaborative piece\, discovering the magic that can happen when we shed the need for a perfect outcome and head out together on a creative journey. \n\n\n\nThis workshop takes place entirely outside\, although there is cover for wet weather – please dress appropriately for the time of day and year\, including sturdy footwear!  Finally\, if you’re likely to be hungry\, bring something to eat during our pause around the fire. \n\n\n\nA visual artist based in Exeter\, Megan works with a variety of media\, exploring connection with people\, place and nature.  Nature Doodles is continually evolving\, and has formed an important part of her practice for over two years. \n\n\n\nPlease let us know your access requirements when you book your ticket \n\n\n\n\nBook Tickets …

DESCRIPTION:Is your house full to the brim with scribblings\, drawings\, stories and diagrams as your child (or grandchild) empties their mind onto page after page\, which eventually make their way into overflowing heaps on the side in the kitchen? \n\n\n\nOver the course of two evenings\, join artist Megan Dowsett to transform their work into highly personal notebooks that both celebrate and re-use their\, often prolific\, creative output. \n\n\n\n“I remember my son doing this picture. I thought\, what am I going to do with that … and here we are! I’m so glad I kept it!” Louise \n\n\n\nBring a whole bunch (as much as you can carry!) of your child’s (or grand child’s) drawing\, writing and scribbling – the good\, the bad\, the ugly – all of it! We’ll re-shape\, re-purpose and re-imagine it into a lovely notebook that serves as a memoir for a time that has gone before you know it. \n\n\n\nThis workshop takes place partly outside – please dress appropriately for the weather time of day\, and sturdy footwear for a short walk during a pause. SUMMARY:Foraged wreathmaking workshop
DESCRIPTION:Make your own seasonal wreath with greenery foraged from our farm. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a relaxing afternoon at West Town Farm foraging and making wreaths for the festive season with organicARTS artists Lucy and Christine. We will be making the base from willow grown on the farm and will collect other foraged materials from the hedgerows. \n\n\n\nAll materials are provided\, although please do bring any additions you are keen to add (ie favourite ribbons or natural materials). Tea\, home-made cake and mulled apple included. \n\n\n\nWear warm clothes that you don’t mind getting messy! \n\n\n\nAll proceeds from this event will help raise much needed funds for our regular work with vulnerable people in our community. \n\n\n\nPre-booking essential!
