SUMMARY:Colours of Place and Memory with Kate Shear
DESCRIPTION:Use the vibrant\, versatile medium of watercolour to represent a place or memory in a series of playful\, circular colour samples.  \n\n\n\nArtist Kate Shear creates highly personal\, ephemeral watercolour commissions that highlight the colours of a moment or event – from Canadian landscapes to weddings and life ceremonies\, she condenses the magic of the occasion in a way that allows the pigment to tell a thousand stories in one simple dot. In this workshop\, Kate will explore the technicalities of working with watercolour\, including wet on wet\, wet on dry and how to ‘hold’ your artwork before it becomes a blurry mess. You’ll think through the colours of the landscape around organicARTS\, or of a place or memory that is meaningful to you (you choose – bring some reference photos and materials if you’d like to do this) and transform them into your own memento of place and time. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will include a pause for a short walk in the beautiful surroundings of organicARTS (fingers crossed for the weather!) – please wear suitable footwear and feel free to bring a snack. \n\n\n\nWorkshop cost includes all materials. \n\n\n\n£28-£38 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBook tickets here ..

SUMMARY:Yule Fireside Sharing Circle
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a chance to connect with nature\, community and yourself during a calm and restorative evening round the fire in our beautiful community garden. Yule is a winter festival that celebrates the return of light and warmth after the winter solstice. \n\n\n\nCircle practice is a method of authentic\, compassionate communication that has been practised throughout history. \n\n\n\nIt involves sitting in a circle and sharing our personal stories in a non judgemental way\, building understanding and empathy. \n\n\n\nWhen we sit in a circle\, we’re implicitly suggesting that we are all equal and that we are connected. A talking stick is held by the person who speaks and moves around the circle until everyone has been heard. The invitation is to speak and listen from the heart. As a technology\, a circle is deceptively simple. There are some basic ground rules: don’t interrupt\, don’t analyse or judge anyone else’s contribution\, keep it confidential\, speak from the heart\, set a time limit. Within that container\, the way it works is simply to go around the circle and hear from everyone. One person speaking at a time. Everyone listening. \n\n\n\nIt will be run by Jo Cotter\, one of the founder members of organicARTS\, and trained in the Way of the Circle\, and Bekah Phillips a keen practitioner. The practice is guided by The Ways of the Council: https://waysofcouncil.net/ you can read more about Council practise here: https://waysofcouncil.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Introduction-to-Council.pdf \n\n\n\nThis is the sixth in a series of circles on Tuesday evenings to celebrate the wheel of the year and the cycle of the seasons. They have all been beautifully gentle and restorative. \n\n\n\nThis is an adult only event\, it will based around the fire outside so come dressed warmly. \n\n\n\nHot drinks and Seasonal Soup will be provided! \n\n\n\n\nTickets here …

SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Sharing Circle
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a chance to connect with nature\, community and yourself. \n\n\n\nCircle practice is a method of authentic\, compassionate communication that has been practised throughout history. It involves sitting in a circle and sharing our personal stories in a non judgemental way\, building understanding and empathy. When we sit in a circle\, we’re implicitly suggesting that we are all equal and that we are connected. A talking stick is held by the person who speaks and moves around the circle until everyone has been heard. The invitation is to speak and listen from the heart. \n\n\n\nAs a technology\, a circle is deceptively simple. There are some basic ground rules: don’t interrupt\, don’t analyse or judge anyone else’s contribution\, keep it confidential\, speak from the heart\, set a time limit. Within that container\, the way it works is simply to go around the circle and hear from everyone. One person speaking at a time. \n\n\n\nEveryone listening. It will be run by Jo Cotter\, one of the founder members of organicARTS\, and trained in the Way of the Circle\, and Bekah Phillips. \n\n\n\nThe practice is guided by The Ways of the Council: https://waysofcouncil.net/ you can read more about Council practise here: https://waysofcouncil.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Introduction-to-Council.pdf \n\n\n\nThis is the second of a series of circles on Tuesday evenings to celebrate the wheel of the year and the cycle of the seasons. This is an adult only event\, it will based around the fire outside so come dressed warmly. Hot drinks will be provided! \n\n\n\n\nBook tickets here …

SUMMARY:Upcycled Children's Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Is your house full to the brim with scribblings\, drawings\, stories and diagrams as your child (or grandchild) empties their mind onto page after page\, which eventually make their way into overflowing heaps on the side in the kitchen? \n\n\n\nOver the course of two evenings\, join artist Megan Dowsett to transform their work into highly personal notebooks that both celebrate and re-use their\, often prolific\, creative output. \n\n\n\n“I remember my son doing this picture. I thought\, what am I going to do with that … and here we are! I’m so glad I kept it!” Louise \n\n\n\nBring a whole bunch (as much as you can carry!) of your child’s (or grand child’s) drawing\, writing and scribbling – the good\, the bad\, the ugly – all of it! You’re welcome to bring a picnic dinner each week. \n\n\n\nA visual artist based in Exeter\, Megan works with a variety of media\, exploring connection with people\, place and nature.
