SUMMARY:Seasonal Circles - April
DESCRIPTION:Join us around the fire to share your stories\, connect with nature and celebrate the wheel of the year during a calm and restorative evening in our beautiful community garden. \n\n\n\nCircle practice is a method of authentic\, compassionate communication that has been practised throughout history. \n\n\n\nIt involves sitting in a circle and sharing our personal stories in a non judgemental way\, building understanding and empathy. \n\n\n\nWhen we sit in a circle\, we’re implicitly suggesting that we are all equal and that we are connected. A talking stick is held by the person who speaks and moves around the circle until everyone has been heard. The invitation is to speak and listen from the heart. As a technology\, a circle is deceptively simple. There are some basic ground rules: don’t interrupt\, don’t analyse or judge anyone else’s contribution\, keep it confidential\, speak from the heart\, set a time limit. Within that container\, the way it works is simply to go around the circle and hear from everyone. One person speaking at a time. Everyone listening. \n\n\n\nIt will be run by Jo Cotter\, one of the founder members of organicARTS\, and trained in the Way of the Circle\, and Bekah Phillips a keen practitioner. The practice is guided by The Ways of the Council: https://waysofcouncil.net/ you can read more about Council practise here: https://waysofcouncil.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Introduction-to-Council.pdf \n\n\n\nThis is part of a series of circles to celebrate the wheel of the year and the cycle of the seasons. They have all been beautifully gentle and restorative. \n\n\n\nThis is an adult only event\, it will based around the fire outside so come dressed warmly. \n\n\n\nHot drinks will be provided!Seasonal Circles – Spring \n\n\n\nPlease email jo@organicarts.org.uk if you would like to find out more or to book your space

SUMMARY:Seasonal Circle - Yule
DESCRIPTION:Join us around the fire to share your stories\, connect with nature and celebrate the wheel of the year during a calm and restorative evening in our beautiful community garden.\n\n\n\nCircle practice is a method of authentic\, compassionate communication that has been practised throughout history. \n\n\n\nHot drinks will be provided! \n\n\n\n\nBook tickets here

DESCRIPTION:Create your own bundle-dyed tote bag as you discover the world of dye plants and the colours within. \n\n\n\nBRING A FRIEND FOR FREE! SUMMARY:Ceramic Skulls with Peter Jeffs
DESCRIPTION:Delve into the earthy world of clay – create decorative skulls for your own Day of the Dead celebrations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe term CALAVERA is often used for decorative skulls made from either sugar or clay\, used in the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. \n\n\n\nDay of the Dead is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2\, exchanging a mournful for a celebratory occasion of those who have died and often taking a humorous tone. Celebrants may meet in the cemetery to remember amusing events and anecdotes about the departed\, or have little shrines at home decorated with marigolds. \n\n\n\nIn this 3.5 hour workshop you will make two small clay skull tokens\, as well as a larger decorated calavera face\, with full\, step by step teaching based on the real shapes of the human skull – learning the basics of claywork. \n\n\n\nPeter Jeffs is a potter renowned for his mystical\, earthy figures and faces. Using the anatomy of the face and body as a starting point\, he evolves life-like forms into ethereal beings who might live at the bottom of your garden – or indeed the depths of the ocean. \n\n\n\nThe skulls will be dried and fired in the kiln at organicARTS\, in time for your own ‘dia de los muertos’ celebration.  We will contact you when it is ready to be collected. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is suitable for adults and young people aged 14+. The morning will include a pause for a short walk in the beautiful surroundings of organicARTS (fingers crossed for the weather!) – please wear suitable footwear and bring a packed lunch. \n\n\n\nPlease let us know your access requirements when you book your ticket.
