Create and Explore on the Farm
Create and explore on the farm with organicARTS. We provide a wide range of creative activities, workshops and walks using natural materials produced by the farm or using the farm as inspiration.
For individuals look at our What’s On to see what is on offer with drop in sessions, one off workshops or series of workshops or contact us to let us know what you would like to do.
For groups you can either pick something from our menu of activities or we can offer activities to meet your needs. Our staff are happy to work together to provide a unique project – see below for some examples.
Group activities can be provided for birthday parties for children or adults; hen or stag parties or weekends; professional groups; community groups; social groups or groups with specific needs etc.
Lucy Rockliffe runs the pottery workshop modelling on the wheel and by hand. Raku firing, tiles and more.
Steve McGlen runs the wood workshop constructing birds, houses, benches, planters and bird houses.
Deggie Belton runs the willow workshop creating baskets to large sculptures.
Examples of unique combinations:
- Make paper; make it into a book; print a cover; use nettle cordage to sew it together; create poems; write them into your book; illustrate them with charcoal drawings (there are many uses to which a home made book can be put and we can help you with most of them)
- Go on a nature walk; take photographs of the things you have seen or discovered; learn how to edit your photographs on the computer; make your own calendar using your own photos
- Dig some clay from the ground; learn how to process clay; make a plaster mould of a pot or piece of crockery; cast a series of these artifacts; decorate them in different ways before they are fired
- Choose a selection of outdoor activities that might appeal more to your girls group than some of the more traditional activities e.g. making wooden jewellery; make creams and potions from natural materials; belly dancing; natural costume making; hedgerow weaving etc.
