Questions

What is OrganicARTS?

OrganicARTS is an Arts and Education Centre based at West Town Farm in Ide, Nr Exeter, Devon.

OrganicARTS seeks to promote the arts and rural issues through educational visits and walks, classes, workshops, community projects, exhibitions and performances. These will take place at West Town Farm, other local farms and in the wider community.

We are in the process of registering as a charity.

Who is OrganicARTS?

OrganicARTS is run by a group of volunteers who work in partnership with the farmer, Andrew Bragg.

How is OrganicARTS funded?

OrganicARTS has recently received funding from the Arts Council, Leader+ and Teignbridge District Council to employ a consultant to work with us on producing a feasibility and development plan. This will aid us in securing funding for the future.

At present OrganicARTS has no core funding. All our activities are self supported.

West Town Farm receives funding for educational visits through the Countryside Stewardship scheme.

We received a grant from NAN for research visits into similar organisations. This work was carried out in April 2005. Click here for the full report.

We have a Friends membership for interested individuals and organisations.

Where is OrganicARTS?

OrganicARTS is based at West Town Farm. The farm is a working organic  farm in a rural landscape on the edge of the Teignbridge boundaries and yet only 3 miles from Exeter. It has 160 acres all of which are accessible for visiting groups and individuals. In this sense it is a unique centre having an integrated approach involving the combination of a rural site involving the working farm with education and the arts.
